Our Primary Program Specialist coordinates the individual’s daily social and recreational activities for both inside and outside of their Point Pleasant home. An IHP, (Individual Habilitative Plan) is developed for each resident by the interdisciplinary team that will be directly involved with the individual’s care. Physical, occupational and speech therapies are available for residents who require additional programs on a consultative basis.
 
Educational Services

Education is an integral part of every child’s life and is provided both on-site and within the local community classroom for our school-age residents.  Children who do not attend the local public school receive their education at their Point Pleasant home. For children who attend the local school, our Medical Director will determine if an attending nurse is required to accompany the child. Our educational program also includes:

• Early Intervention Services
• Intermediate Unit Services
• Residents 21 and older receive individualized activities

Socialization

In addition to living in a friendly, youth-oriented environment with other children and young adults, we are proud of our strong ties with the Community. Children may have an opportunity to participate in our Community Life Program that includes events such as visits to the local park, library or to meet with a scout troop. Integration programs encourage friendships between individuals who are developmentally delayed and people without disabilities. This fun and rewarding interaction helps educate the community about the gifts of special-needs children.
